WINDOW ART
PRE-INSTALLATION
Our graphics are easy to install because the holes help prevent air bubbles from forming and the film conforms well to curved glass surfaces. Installation is simple if you use the right tools and follow a few basic rules.

However, prior to installation of actual printed graphics, we recommend attaching a small amount of the film to glass as a test to help you become accustomed to the film's characteristics, including adhesion strength.

This product is DRY MOUNTED.
Glass surface must be CLEAN.
Use soap and water only, NO SOLVENTS.
Glass surface must be completely DRY.
Use lint-free cloth or industrial paper towels to dry the glass.
Temperature of glass must be moderate. DO NOT APPLY IN THE SUN.
In extremely cold weather (below 40 F / 4.4 C) , apply film in the late afternoon, after windows have warmed up.
Applying film to glass that is too cold may adversely affect the adhesion of the film.
Film that has been stored in extremely cold conditions can become brittle. Allow the film to warm up before installing to prevent it from cracking.
In extremely warm weather (above 90 F / 32.2 C), apply film in the early morning, when the glass surface is still cool.
Applying film to glass that is too HOT can cause the film to stretch.

BASIC INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Position your graphic on window. Use masking tape to tape down your graphic half way across the top of vehicle.

2. Carefully peel off backing from untaped half. Place your hand in the middle and smooth graphic down working toward the end of the window.

3.  Repeat step 2 on the other half of the graphic.

4. To smooth out any wrinkles, carefully pull the graphic up to where the wrinkle is and smooth it out with your hand.

5. Lay the disposable backing over the image and use a squeegee to firmly rub the image from the center out to help the adhesion. (Adhesive bonds to the glass well when first applied, but will set more fiirmly after 24 hours)

6. Take an xacto knife (or similar) and trim excess image.

USE AND CARE TIPS

Avoid washing your graphic panel for at least 7 days .
Avoid spraying high pressure washers at the edges or holding them closer than 18" from the graphic.
DO NOT use abrasive cleaners or ice scrapers on the graphic panel.
Rear window wiper may cause a premature wear, unless laminated or sealed and can cause the panel to peel away from the edge. Edge sealer can be used to seal edges of the panel.
Rear window defrosters will not harm you graphic.

Large Vinyl Graphics, Rips and Lettering
Installation Instructions

Please read instructions all the way through before you start.

Surface Preparation

The surface you wish to apply the graphics to, must be clean and free of all oils, waxes and dirt. Use isopropyl alcohol to clean the glass. If you use RainX, try Formula 409 to remove it. Other surfaces use soap and water.Allow all surfaces to dry completely.
These graphics come to you in three layers. The top layer is called application tape. It looks somewhat like white masking tape, or semi transparent tape (depending on which was used). The middle layer is the actual graphic. The bottom layer is a backing paper.

Temperature & Weather Conditions

For best results the room temperature and temperature of the target surface should be between 45 and 90 degrees F. Avoid installing graphics in direct sunlight due to rapid surface temperature changes. Do the application in a wind-free area. Wind gusts will cause problems especially after the liner is removed and the vinyl adhesive is exposed!
Large graphics are best applied with help from another person to hold vinyl (at the corners of the application tape) up off from surface ahead of the squeegee.

Wet Application Transfer Method
For Use With Large Graphics

Mix a gallon or so of water with a few drops of dishwashing liquid. Use a spray bottle and wet the area where graphic is to be applied. Trim away the transfer tape so that the tape is about a 1/2" larger than the size of the graphic. Remove the backing and place the graphic, still attached to the application tape, to the thoroughly wetted surface. The graphic can now be moved and repositioned correctly, as it will slide on the thin film of solution trapped between the vinyl and the surface you are applying it to. If you are doing a windshield graphic and need to curve the lettering, cut the tape between the letters about 3/4 of the way from top to bottom with a knife and position the letters where needed. DO NOT completely separate the letters, as this will mess up the spacing between them. When the graphic is in the final location, use a small squeegee(or credit card can also be used as a squeegee) to squeeze the water and detergent solution out from under the graphic. The application tape will protect the graphic during this process. Be sure to squeegee as much solution as possible from under the graphic. Take your time, because if not enough solution is removed from under the graphic, it will not adhere to the surface enough to allow the easy removal of the application tape. Although a squeegee is the recommend tool, the water can be also removed using the fingers, or a soft cloth. When through with the squeegee, the transfer tape can be carefully removed. Work the Decal with your fingers, and a soft, absorbent cloth around the edges to remove any remaining solution. Warm weather is best for this application. If there is a bubble present under the graphic that cannot be removed by working it to the edge with your fingers,(you can also use a squeegee at this point and lay a piece of the backing paper on top of the graphic so as not to damage the printed surface of the graphic), then a small pin or needle can be used to puncture the graphic at the bubble, and remove the air. A small pin hole will not be seen after the air bubble has been worked out with the fingers. Small bubbles will usually come out on their own in time.

Dry Transfer Application

You will need a needle, and a credit card or similar plastic squeegee.
Try to do at room temperature or above, the warmer it is, the better it works, as long as it is not hot. Do not do it in direct sunlight.
Take the graphic, still on the backing paper, and use the credit card to flatten from the center of the graphic, and work your way out to the ends. Make sure to work out as much air as possible. This should help the graphic adhere to the application tape.

Check to see if the graphics are cut for inside or outside application.

Turn graphic upside down and pull backing paper off, SLOWLY. The backing is the heavier gauge paper that isn't sticky. Using needle or similar pointed object, hold edges of letters as necessary, while pulling away backing. If a letter starts to come off the application tape, just position it back in place by pushing backing down and pull up again repositioning it back to its original position on the application tape.
Position graphic and squeegee from the center out. Use credit card squeegee out as much air as possible. The application tape will allow you to smooth the graphic into place without damaging it.
Once the graphic touches the glass or paint, it cannot be moved again, so DO NOT RUSH!

Maintenance

In colder climates, graphics on windows of vehicles will be damaged by scraping frost or ice from the windows, so DO NOT scrape near the graphics.Clean with soap and water. On painted surfaces of vehicles, care must be taken when waxing. Wax will build up around the edges of the graphic, and will need to be removed. Use a soft cloth, or a soft bristled tooth brush, and take your time, and be gentle. The graphic will not be damaged by normal automotive car wash products, or water. The graphic will not last forever, but will give many years of service if taken care of, in some cases even possibly outlasting the paint (if applied to paint).

Removing Vinyl Graphics

On glass surfaces, a razor blade scraper can be used. A heat gun or hair dryer can be used to warm the graphic to a point where it peels off easily on painted surfaces. The application of this vinyl graphic requires a certain amount of planning, and concentration. If you feel you cannot apply the graphic yourself, any auto detailer, or body shop can install it for you. We are not responsible for replacing graphics that have been damaged before, during or after application.
